Town defender Chris Makin will miss the FA Cup visit of Morecambe on January 4th after his sending off at Portsmouth on Saturday.

An entertaining game at a foggy Fratton Park ended 1-1 after Pompey went one-up in the first half through Svetoslav Todorov before Thomas Gaardsøe headed an equaliser in the second period. Town did well enough to win the game a plethora of chances were wasted, particularly by Pablo Couñago while Chris Makin saw a red card late on.

Town manager Joe Royle has included Jim Magilton in his squad despite the midfielder having missed training this week with a groin problem. Tommy Miller also missed training today but is still likely to be OK for the visit to Fratton Park on Saturday.

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler says his club are still keen to sign Town defender Wayne Brown. The 25-year-old, given a free transfer by Joe Royle, had been in talks with the Gills and Watford although both deals appeared to have broken down at the weekend.

Town picked up their first double of season with a 4-2 win against Watford at Portman Road. Two excellent first half goals from Tommy Miller and Richard Naylor put the Blues in the driving seat but a Tommy Smith goal gave Watford a second half lifeline.
